U.S. Men’s Hockey Team Wins Gold: ESPN says the U.S. Men’s Olympic Hockey Team won gold at the Olympics yesterday by beating Canada 2-1. Jack Hughes scored the game-winning goal. Cllct Media says Jack’s Olympic helmet would be worth $350,000 if auctioned off. The Olympic jersey he wore when he hit his game-winning goal would be worth $2 million if sold in the next two weeks.
The team celebrated afterwards by downing Mich Ultra and peanut butter. They sang Toby Keith’s song “Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue” in the locker room.
TMSPN says Team USA paid tribute to teammate Johnny Gaudreau, who tragically passed away in 2024. Gaudreau’s jersey was carried on the ice during the victory celebration. Players expressed that the gold medal was won in his memory and was a testament to their promise to make him proud. On the evening of August 29th, 2024, Gaudreau and his brother Matthew were struck and killed by a drunk driver in Oldmans Township, New Jersey.
