Huey Lewis tells the Inside of You it’s very difficult to enjoy music anymore due to his hearing condition. ““When I cook or I have people over for dinner, I always used to play them music. I have a great collection of old big band stuff and old New Orleans jazz and I don’t play it at all anymore. … It’s weird. I can hear the beat, I know what’s going on. But I can’t enjoy it.”
Joe Elliot tells Music News that having a sense of humor is a big part of what’s kept Def Leppard together all these years. “A sense of humor has kept this band together, and I think that comes across to the fans.We do what we do and for some bizarre reason people still like it … We have to keep making music. We’ve got heads full of songs and we’re going to die unhappy if we never get them written.”
Rod Stewart’s wife, Penny Lancaster, tells the Daily Star newspaper that they have arguments like any other couple. “Rod and I, of course, like any couple, will have our disagreements. Sometimes he might say things to me that he might regret, or thinks: ‘Oh, I could have chosen a better way of putting my message across’. I remember there was one time we were in the car and we were taking the boys to school, and it was just all rushing around like you do in the morning. We’re in the car on the way, and we were disagreeing about something, the boys were in the back. And Rod just said: ‘Stop the car!’ I stopped the car. He turned around to the boys in the back and he said: ‘You need to listen to this. Mummy, I’m sorry’. He said: ‘I shouldn’t have spoken to your mother like that.”
Page Six says Mick Jagger has been thinking about a Rolling Stones biopic after director Sam Mendes announced a four-film Beatles project. A pal says, “Mick is actively thinking about what a movie project could be for the Stones. Being involved would allow him to have a voice in the project and even put across things that would be important to him. The Beatles’ movies certainly moved the dial for him. In the past he has always shied away from projects like this because he has never been one to explain much about what happened over six decades. But times change and opportunities arise and at the very least there have been discussions.”
