The newest trending words are “vibe coding,” “parasocial,” “Mandela Effect,” “looksmaxxing,” “Rickroll,” “meme coin,” and “promposal.” The dictionary also added “yacht rock,” “cuffing season,” “Sunday scaries,” “trash panda,” and “copium.” “Letterboxing” now has a digital meaning in addition to its older definition tied to a pastime dating to the 1800s. AI-related additions include “AGI,” meaning artificial general intelligence, a noun form of “compute,” and “uncanny valley.” Food additions include “superfood,” “cake pop,” “shishito,” “bao,” and “chili crisp.”
