Kelly Osbourne tells We Need to Talk that her father, Ozzy Osbourne, told her that he loved her three days before his death. “He sat me down; this was about three days before he died. He sat me down and said, ‘Tots, I need you to know something… No matter what happens in this life, you can live the rest of your life knowing that there was one man on this planet that truly loved you, that truly loved you for every single thing you are. And that man is me.”
Whynow magazine says Rod Stewart, Elton John and Freddie Mercury once discussed forming a supergroup called “Nose, Teeth & Hair.” The idea came up during a dinner party at a house Queen was renting in Bel Air. Rod says the group planned to appear dressed like the Beverley Sisters, but the project never happened. Mercury later joked that the band could not get started because the three singers could not agree on the order of the words.
Stereogum says Tom Petty’s estate is going to release a 50th-anniversary box set with previously unreleased tracks. “Origins 1971-1978” includes newly remastered versions of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ first two albums, plus extended versions of 11 tracks, including “American Girl” and “Refugee.” A rarities collection features seven previously unreleased songs including the newly shared single “Parade Of Loons.” The set also includes a 1977 live broadcast from the Record Plant, the band’s 1978 appearance on The Old Grey Whistle Test, and, in its deluxe version, a Blu-ray, a DVD, and an 88-page fanzine. The set will be out on November 6th
Far Out magazine says Brian May has backed off plans for a Queen hologram show because of the amount of AI it would require. May had been considering a Queen production at the Sphere after seeing what the Eagles did there. “I’ve kind of backed off now because you can’t do it without massive use of AI, with all the consequences of that. The doors are open, but I don’t know if we are going to walk through.”
Ozzy Osbourne’s final Black Sabbath show is being turned into a concert film titled “Back to the Beginning”. It will have a limited theatrical run beginning on October 28th. Osbourne performed a solo set before joining Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward for Black Sabbath’s first performance together in more than 20 years. His set included “Mama, I’m Coming Home,” “Crazy Train,” “Iron Man” and “Paranoid.” Osbourne died 17 days after the concert.
