Elton John tells the BBC that he can barely see. “I can see you, but I can’t see TV, I can’t read. I can’t see my boys playing rugby and soccer, and it has been a very stressful time because I’m used to soaking it all up. You get emotional, but you have to get used to it because I’m lucky to have the life I have. I still have my wonderful family, and I can still see something out of [my left eye]. So you say to yourself, ‘Just get on with it.'”
Elton John tells The Daily Mail that he would advise his younger self to never take drugs. “Enjoy what you do, which I’d done. Never take drugs. I mean, I took drugs. But I wouldn’t have wanted to go through all that, but it did land me up where I am now. Music has been in my entire life. It’s been with me when I’ve been up, been down, depressed, but I still went out there and made music, I recorded, I toured, and it saved me.”
Us Weekly says John Mellencamp’s daughter, Teddi, recently completed her final radiation treatment. The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star celebrated by ringing her hospital’s cancer bell. Mellencamp documented the milestone on Instagram. She has five more rounds of immunotherapy to go and is staying positive throughout her cancer battle.
Def Leppard star Joe Elliott tells Ultimate-Guitar.com that he doesn’t like the term, ‘Heavy Metal’. “It’s a silly, silly term. I like ‘rock’. When you start pigeonholing, it gets on my [nerves], to be quite honest, because can’t we just all be just a rock band or a pop band or be both?”
Lenny Kravitz was doing an interview for a recent edition of People magazine when he said his health and his music go hand in hand for him. ““They go together. Taking care of myself and the lifestyle goes with the music. Living is an art, so how are you going to live it? It really is how you approach life. It changes a lot, and if you do your best to live it in the light and live gracefully and learn from your, we call them mistakes, but our lessons and take care of yourself, you can get great results. So it all goes together. The music, the lifestyle, everything. It’s all one and the same.”
