High School Teacher Does Promposal After 39 Years Of Marriage: A South Bend, Indiana man recently asked his wife to prom after 39 years of marriage.  Richard McKernan is a life skills teacher at Adams High School.  He surprised his wife Kathleen with a promposal as he nears retirement.  Richard’s students loved his gesture. He gave his wife a rose and held a sign that said, “I’m no beast, but you’re a beauty. Will you go to prom with me?”
