California Man Stranded At Sea For More Than A Month: The Daily Mirror says a California man was stranded at sea for more than a month before he was found floating off the coast of Hawaii. Kai Sato set sail from the Catalina Islands on June 7th to cross the Pacific.  Two weeks in, his mast snapped as he drifted with no gas.   He was making repairs with PVC pipes and kayak paddles. A Pasha Hawaii ship rescued him. Kai says, “I cried for a whole week, just drifting south, like miserable.” He survived on oatmeal and fish and squids that landed in his boat
