Rock to Roll says Sammy Hagar recently criticized Alex Van Halen for charging $475 for a limited-edition book featuring archival photos and an unreleased early Van Halen demo. Hagar objected to Alex selling the material, saying, “Alex wants to just keep releasing all this old stuff and these photographs and charging people for old pictures that you could find on the internet. You should be putting them out there for free. To me, he’s doing a lot of stuff wrong for the legacy of Van Halen.”
The Daily Mail says Rod Stewart is doing “great” and has returned to the gym after a heart procedure. His wife Penny Lancaster says family and doctors are making sure he does not push himself too hard as he recovers. Rod canceled the remainder of his 2026 U.S. and Mexico tour dates
Nova says U2’s upcoming album is titled “Carnaval de Luz”, which translates to Carnival of Light. Bono announced the title with bandmates The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr. Bono called their new material “strong stuff.” The band’s new single, “Silencio,” is out today.
Aerosmith’s Joe Perry tells Classic Rock magazine that he was always a lot better at the guitar than he was at school. “I had a guitar in my hand most of the time. I wasn’t what you’d call an achiever in school so there was always a battle; I’d be in my room supposedly doing my homework but my parents would hear me playing my the guitar. ‘Put that down, you’ve got to study!’ Even when I was in prep school, they said they’d take my guitar from me until my grades improved; that didn’t last long as I’d sneak away and play it quietly. I always found a way.”
Heart star Ann Wilson tells 519 magazine that her friendship with her sister Nancy may be a stronger bond than their sisterhood. She says knowing when to give each other space has helped sustain their relationship.
