– Director Alejandro G. Iñárritu personally read the screenplay to Cruise over several days before production.
– The working title was “Judy”. The production used that title before Warner Bros. announced the final name, “Digger”. Director Alejandro G. Iñárritu initially wanted to call the film “Blah, Blah, Blah”
– The cast asked for Les Grossman. Cruise’s co-stars reportedly challenged him to perform his famous *Tropic Thunder* dance during the press conversation.
– The ten-minute monologue was one take. Cruise said the extended speech was filmed as a continuous take while he wore the prosthetic-heavy costume.
– Cruise worked on dance, singing, and music to learn how to control his body for the character.
– Cruise said the makeup process was so demanding that he sometimes slept in his trailer on set.
